Social Cognition Lab:
As an undergraduate at UC San Diego, I volunteered at the Social Cognition Lab supporting research on interoception and loneliness under graduate researcher Andrew Arnold. My primary responsibility was administering a Social Stroop study investigating whether individual differences in interoception were associated with attentional interference from socially threatening stimuli.
I administered study procedures, maintained research stations, entered data, managed participant compensation and communicated with the research team about protocol updates.
The study combined a reaction-time Social Stroop task with self-report measures. Questionnaire data also contributed to a meta analysis of the relationship between intrapersonal measures and loneliness. The figures below are from that meta analysis.
