E-commerce and Fencing

E-commerce:

After college, I independently operated multiple e-commerce businesses. A primary focus was organic social media marketing. I produced short-form video content and for one of my products I grew a YouTube channel to more than 1 million subscribers as well as a TikTok account to more than 140,000 followers. Across platforms, the content generated over 250 million views, generating organic website traffic alongside YouTube adsense revenue.

I also designed, maintained and continually optimized the product websites which involved product photography, copywriting, user experience and pricing/promotional strategy.

On the operational side, I handled supplier negotiations, product testing, sourcing and shipping logistics along with managing customer inquiries, escalations and refunds.

Fencing:

During high school, I qualified for and had the opportunity to represent the United States in international competitions. I also won the silver medal at the 2019 Junior Olympics, placing 2nd out of 318 competitors and reaching a national ranking of 30th among men’s foil fencers under 20.

In college, I competed in UC San Diego’s NCAA Division I fencing team and qualified for the NCAA Championships in three consecutive years, where I earned three All-American honors (awarded to the top 12 competitors each year).

Outside competition, I took on progressively larger leadership roles within the team. As Squad Captain during my junior year I led four practices per week for smaller training groups operating under COVID restrictions and developed a digital library of 15 tailored fencing drills to help organize practices, which continued to be used by the team in subsequent seasons.

During my senior year, I served as both Team Captain and Team Manager. I led group practices and worked with team leadership to establish cultural and operational goals. To improve communication within the team, I designed an eight-item anonymous feedback survey that was administered quarterly with results discussed by the team and used to identify areas for improvement.
